Infection Control

Infection prevention and control is everyone’s business.  Calderdale Councils Infection Prevention and Control Team work collaboratively with Public Health England (PHE), the Environmental Health Department, neighboring Public Health teams, social services, local hospitals and other agencies in order to:

  • monitor the incidence of infection in Calderdale and respond to incidents and outbreaks within Calderdale
  • advise on issues relating to the prevention and control of infection
  • produce and review policies/guidelines and provide education to support effective infection prevention and control within health and social care settings
  • advise on the procurement of new equipment and the commissioning of new buildings/refurbishments in relation to infection prevention and control issues
  • advise health and social care commissioners to ensure services provide clean safe care
